Thomas G. Buchanan was born in northwest Arkansas and raised on a farm in Tonitown, Arkansas.  He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science.  Tom attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he received his law degree Magna Cum Laude in 1999.  He was the recipient of the M. Jeff Starling Award, Associate Editor of the Arkansas Law Review, and was selected for publication in the commemorative edition of the Arkansas Law Review honoring the 100th Anniversary of the Arkansas Bar Association:  Franklin v. Healthsource of Arkansas:  Arkansas Adopts the Made-Whole Doctrine, 51 ARK. L. REV. 773 (1998).

Upon graduating from law school, Tom worked in the Dallas, Texas office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P., one of the most prestigeous law firms in the world, defending many Fortune 500 companies in litigation.  In 2002, Tom returned to Arkansas to work for one of the state's preeminent firms defending cases involving products liability, premises liability, automobile accidents, employment law, and business litigation.

In January 2004, Tom joined the nationally known firm of Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., representing victims of nursing home abuse and neglect.  His practice focused on cases involving victims of nursing home abuse and neglect in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas, many of which resolved in excess of one million dollars.

In October 2008, Tom formed the Law Office of Thomas G. Buchanan in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Soon after, Tom joined the Terry Law Firm, L.L.C. as Of Counsel in the firm's Little Rock, Arkansas office, where his focus remains nursing home abuse and neglect litigation, serious injuries resulting from car, truck, and motorcycle accidents, and medical negligence.

Tom is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas and is available to practice in any state on a case-by-case basis.
